Uzbekistan launches new international tender for 3 hydropower plants

https://www.boland-hydroturbine.com/ Uzbekistan’s state hydropower producer and developer, Uzbekhydroenergo, announced on June 4 a tender for the design and construction of the Rabat, Chappasuy and Tamshush Hydropower Plants on the Aksu River in the Kashkadarya Region of Uzbekistan. “We are pleased to announce a tender for the design and construction of three new hydropower plants on the Aksu River,” a spokesperson from Uzbekistan’s Energy Ministry said. “These new plants will make a significant contribution to our goal of increasing our power generation capacity. They will also reduce our carbon emissions and grow our clean energy sources. We would also like to thank the Asian Development Bank for its support on this project,” the spokesperson added. The construction of the three hydropower plants is part of Uzbekistan’s Sustainable Hydropower Project, which is part-financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Uzbekistan’s Energ

India to have 70,000 MW hydropower generation capacity by 2030

https://www.boland-hydroturbine.com/ India will have an installed hydropower generation capacity of 70,000 MW by 2030. The country has around 13,000 MW hydropower plants under various stages of construction and another 8,000 MW projects are in the pipeline which will commence construction in the next six to eight months. The current installed capacity of hydropower in the country stands at around 45,700 MW. India has an estimated hydropower potential of 1,45,000 MW at 60% plant load factor. The Ministry of Power in its draft amendment of the Electricity Act has proposed to include hydropower within the renewable purchase obligation (RPO) targets set for the state power distribution companies.
