Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan sign roadmap for implementing hydropower project

  Minister of Energy and Industry of Kyrgyzstan Kubanychbek Turdubayev met with an Uzbek delegation headed by Uzbek Minister of Energy Alisher Sultanov, trend reports citing Karba. The meeting was held as part of the implementation of agreements reached between Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov and Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. In his welcoming speech, Minister Turdubayev noted with great satisfaction that the agreements reached the day before are beginning to be implemented today. Iran, Azerbaijan Resume Construction of Joint Hydropower Plants

  The Iranian and Azerbaijani officials have agreed to move ahead with the construction of dams and hydropower plants on the border river of Araz, which were recently liberated from Armenia's occupation during the Second Karabakh War. Plans for the new plants, known as "Khudafarin" and "Qiz Qalasi" (meaning maiden tower in Azerbaijani), were approved during the third meeting of the technical working group of Iran and Azerbaijan.
